22考研英语阅读强化阶段备考:阅读考察哪几大能力?

关于阅读的考察,大纲规定了六大内容:1.了解文章的中心思想;2.可以根据文章内容做一些合理的推理判断;3.了解论点论据的关系;4.了解作者的意图和态度;5.把握文章细节信息;6.能根据上下文推断词和句的意思。关于这六项能力的考察,根据往年试题,考察频率最高的就是关于把握细节信息的考察。下面我们用一些例题来感受下。

例1:

(Para 1) Rats and other animals need to be highly attuned to social signals from others so they can identify friends to cooperate with and enemies to avoid. To find out if this extends to non-living beings, Laleh Quinn at the University of California, San Diego, and her colleagues tested whether rats can detect social signals from robotic rats.

Quinn and her colleagues conducted a test to see if rats can ______.

[B] distinguish a friendly rat from a hostile one

本题是对细节信息的考察,是典型的细节题。细节题解题的核心在于能准确找到相关题目在原文出现的位置,就本题来说题目信息可以定位到原文划线的位置。定位完成后,比对原文和四个选项,可以快速得出答案为A选项。本题在考察细节的题目中是最简单的。

例2:

Homework has never been terribly popular with students and even many parents, but in recent years it has been particularly scorned. School districts across the country, most recently Los Angeles Unified, are revising their thinking on this educational ritual. ①Unfortunately, L.A. Unified has produced an inflexible policy which mandates that with the exception of some advanced courses, homework may no longer count for more than 10% of a student’s academic grade.

②This rule is meant to address the difficulty that students from impoverished or chaotic homes might have in completing their homework. But the policy is unclear and contradictory. Certainly, no homework should be assigned that students cannot complete on their own or that they cannot do without expensive equipment. But if the district is essentially giving a pass to students who do not do their homework because of complicated family lives, it is going riskily close to the implication that standards need to be lowered for poor children.

本题通过识别也是细节题。按照题干信息回原文找,可以定位到划线位置,与例1不同的是,本题定位的位置非常多且琐碎,没有一处能完全对应到题干。这个时候就需要我们先来筛选题干的定位信息。其中,我们可以发现homework和student在文中出现多次,属无效信息。L.A.和rule分别定位到①和②两个句子,并且②句开头使用了指示代词this,指代前文句子。各位同学们可以记住此类情况。一般题干信息定位到原文两个句子的,我们可以两句话结合使用(如果英语基础好的话),或者可以优先考虑第二个句子(毕竟第二句作为第一句的补充也要充分发挥它的作用啊)。那么在本题中对比②句和四个选项可以得出C项。最后我们可以再验证下,如果大家认识②原文impoverished这个单词的话,可以对应题目的poor,两者都是贫困的意思,所以验证了我们定位句子是对的。
